The North Market Scene: Winter Farmers Markets

 

Weekly trips to the farmer's market and eating locally don't need to end just because it's below freezing. The farmers market scene is still chugging hard all winter long featuring high tunnel produce, local artisan cheeses, honey and much more. These local vendors grow and freeze all winter long so you don't have to!

 

Linden Hills Holiday Market

OPEN 9am to 4pm every Sunday Thru December 21st.

The Linden Hills market has been piloting a new chef driven market that incorporates both retail and bulk opportunities. There is really no market like this anywhere else in the Twin Cities. You can also shop their holiday market that features a tie bar by ANDAmpls, Blue Ox Organics wool and a 'Make Your Own Bitters' kit by Easy & Oskey.

 

Mill City Farmers Market 
704 South 2nd Street Minneapolis, MN 

OPEN The Mill City Museum will play host to the monthly indoor markets every second Saturday from November until April, 8am to 1pm. Weekly Saturday outdoor markets resume on Saturday, May 9th. 

The Mill City Farmers Market features the largest assortment of farm fresh goods and produce. This includes grass-fed beef, lamb and bison alongside apples, squash, dried mushrooms, beans and more. Stop by this Saturday, December 13th for live music and fresh cut Balsam trees.

 

St. Paul Farmers Market
290 E 5th St, St Paul, MN 

OPEN Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.

You will find a wide variety of local meat items, cheese, honey, bakery goods, strudel, jams & jellies, pickled items, chocolates, mustard & hot sauces, peirogis, apples and seasonal decorating items. 

 

Minneapolis Farmers Market
312 East Lyndale Ave. North, Minneapolis, MN

OPEN December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 | 9:00am – Noon.  January 10th and 24th - 9am to 12pm.

Holiday tree market is open daily thru December 23rd.  

 

Ferndale Market

OPEN Monday-Friday 10am-6pm Saturday 9am-5pm Sunday 11am-4pm.

One of our favorite off the beaten path market locations might be the Ferndale Market in Cannon Falls Minnesota. Located on the families Turkey Farm, the market carries free-range turkey products alongside 70 other local producers that range from pork farmers to pasta makers.
